[Aside: By using GGBS cement in your concrete you will get a light colour and create a cool roof. You can cool cities (reduce the urban heat island effect) by lightening the colour of pavement. This is mostly easily achieved by choosing concrete made with GGBS instead of asphalt.

read more»The new 40m span bridge, located at Spencer Dock, behind the new Convention Centre in Dublin has been constructed using a combination of white in situ and precast reinforced concrete. Using 70% Ecocem GGBS in the concrete has significantly enhanced the service life of the concrete and reduced the embodied carbon footprint of the structure; both contributing to the over all sustainability of the structure.
